A 27-year-old man lost his life on Wednesday after he collided with a vehicle, which was at the time passing an offloading minibus.
Dead is Steven Armstrong of Hill Foot Soesdyke, Linden Highway. The accident occurred at about 17:30 hrs on the McDoom Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Reports are that Armstrong was proceeding north on the Mc Doom Public Road on motorcycle CK 7037 when he lost control and collided with an articulated vehicle, which was at the time passing an offloading minibus.
As a result, he fell and suffered several injuries to his head and body and was picked up in a semi-conscious state and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) by public-spirited citizens.
However, he died at about 19:45hrs while receiving treatment for his injuries.
Police said that no trace of alcohol was found in the driver of the articulated vehicle nor the driver of the minibus. The investigation is ongoing.
