A superbet clerk was on Saturday robbed of her day’s sales just as she was about to close the outlet.
The incident occurred at about 18:45 hrs at First Street Potentia, West Bank Demerara (WBD), by an unidentifiable male.
Guyana Standard understands that 29-year-old Shakule Khan was about to secure the superbet front door with a Yale lock when she heard a male voice saying, “don’t move.”
She reportedly told investigators that the person grabbed her black shoulder bag, which contained $162,700 cash, which belonged to the owner of the business.
The bandit then made good his escape on foot in a northern direction. Police were summoned and made checks for the suspect, but their efforts were futile. An investigation is ongoing.
