Proprietor of People’s Supermarket located at Wales, West Bank Demerara (WBD), was robbed of cash and other items on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at about 20:15hrs by two male suspects, who were both wearing face masks and armed with handguns at the time.
Reports are that Xin Bang Yu,49, along with his 16-year-old assistant, was in the supermarket at the cashier section when the suspects pounced on them.
The bandits then pointed their guns at the victims and demanded that they hand over their money.
The Police said that the suspects then went to the cash register and removed $115,000 in cash and $50,000 worth of Digicel phone cards.
The men then walked out of the supermarket in an unknown direction and made good their escape.
Police are reviewing the CCTV footage of the robbery as the investigations continue.
