A North Road Bourda woman was today remanded to prison for allegedly attempting to traffic cocaine through the Eugene F. Correia International Airport.
Pathrina Pilgrim of 2 ‘C’ North Road Bourda appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on January 27, 2021, at Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Pilgrim had 534 grams of cocaine in her possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was remanded to prison until February 19.
Two other persons, one of whom has been identified as Chelsea Collins, are being sought in relation to this matter.
The cocaine was found in two parcels, each wrapped in carbon and concealed in a false wall to the bottom of the box.
The parcel contained a number of packets of local snacks, notably: coconut biscuit, mittai, chicken foot, and one packet of uncooked vermicelli.
