A 73-year-old resident from Region One (Barima/Waini) is the latest reporter COVID-19 fatality. The death toll now stands at 179. The patient died while receiving medical attention at a COVID-19 facility.
The Health Ministry is urging all Guyanese to observe the protocols of the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES (NO.14), which are in effect until February 28, 2021.
This order emphasises:
1. the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving your home;
2. the importance of maintaining the six feet physical distance from others;
3. the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
