The Guyana Police Force is investigating an incident involving Danny Ramkissoon, a taxi driver of Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara (ECD), and his eighteen-month-old daughter, Adena Ramkissoon, which occurred this morning
Enquiries disclosed that Ramkissoon, as he was driving his vehicle out of his yard, felt as though he ran over something.
He stopped, exited the vehicle and on checking, observed his daughter lying motionless under the left rear side of the car. He called out for his wife and they picked up the child and rushed her to a city hospital where she was admitted a patient in the Emergency Unit.
Her condition is listed as critical. Statements have not yet been taken due to both parents being traumatized.
This incident comes less than 24 hours after a similar incident at Mahaica, ECD where a 20-month-old child was crushed to death by a lorry driven by his father.
