The decomposed body that was found, between rocks in the Demerara River today, has been identified as that of 19-year-old, Joel Skeete. He was reported missing a few days ago by relatives.
He was last seen leaving a barbershop at Bagotsville, East Bank Demerara on the evening of March 31.
His body was identified by his uncle, Colonel Julius Skeete, and is at the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Skeete’s decomposed body was found around 13:45hrs between rocks at the western bank of the Demerara River in the vicinity of Belle Vue. The body was clad in dark-grey long pants and a burgundy jersey.
According to police, several persons around the area were questioned but no “useful information” was received.
