About 06:30hrs today, an unknown caller made contact with the Leonora Police Station and reported that a partly decomposed body had washed up on the Cornelia Ida Sea Shore, West Coast Demerara.
Police Commander, Errol Watts said the scene was visited by an Inspector and a party of policemen, where it was observed that the body was that of a man.
Police say the man is of mixed race, and appears to be around 45 years old. He is yet to be identified.
The body was escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Home at Best Village, West Coast Demerara.
Investigations are ongoing.
