Some 71 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised throughout the country, says Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony. During his daily update today, the Health Official noted that 15 patients are at the West Demerara facility, five at the New Amsterdam, Berbice medical institution, and 51 at the Ocean View COVID-19 Hospital at Liliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
Of the 51 at the specialty hospital, 13 are receiving breathing assistance, the Minister noted.
He said that they are being monitored around the clock by doctors to ensure recovery.
As of yesterday, confirmed cases in the country stood at 11,901, with 10,246 recoveries.
The death of two patients earlier today, took the death toll to 273.
