Police are now on the hunt for a man called ‘Plait Hair’ (only name given) after he allegedly dealt several stabs to a shop keeper at Sand Hill Landing for intervening in an argument.
The victim has been identified as Ryan Jones of Riverston, Essequibo.
On Sunday, police said that Plait Hair and his reputed wife were arguing when they ended up at the shop where Jones works.
The victim then intervened in the said argument and warned the suspect about his behaviour.
The suspect, who was at the time armed with a cutlass and a knife, became annoyed and dealt Jones several stabs to his body.
Jones was assisted by persons in the area and was accompanied to the Bartica Public Hospital, where he was seen and examined by a doctor who treated him for his injuries and admitted him as a patient of the said hospital.
