Yesterday, between 16:00hrs and 20:15hrs, police ranks stationed in Berbice, led by an Assistant Superintendent, conducted a COVID-19 protocols enforcement exercise in the No. 3 Sub-Division.
During the exercise which targeted public transportation and public spaces, forty-two (42) persons were arrested for breaching the COVID-19 measures.
The Guyana Police Force is upping its enforcement as the country experiences a surge in new COVID-19 cases. Guyana has confirmed over 12,703 cases since March 2020, with 284 deaths.
