Yesterday, detectives and ranks of the Mahdia Police Station conducted a cordon and search exercise at the home of the 74-yr-old man at 111 Miles Mahdia.
During the exercise, a black plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds along with $16,300 was found.
He admitted ownership which led to his arrest, the Guyana Police Force said.
At the Mahdia Police Station, the cannabis was weighed in his presence and same amounted to 356 grams. The suspect is presently in custody assisting with investigation, pending charges.
