Early this morning, between 01:30hrs and 02:00hrs, a COVID-19 enforcement exercise was conducted at 43 Middle Street, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara where a private party was being held. The host of the party is a serving member of the Guyana Defence Force.
The Corporal, three other ranks of the GDF, a police officer and two civilians were all arrested.
Several others managed to escape.
While being placed in motor pickup # PWW 5458 one of the civilians kicked the back windscreen of said state vehicle and shattered it.
The two civilians were placed in custody at Parfaite Harmony Police Station while the ranks of the Guyana Defence Force and Guyana Police Force were placed on close arrest.
