Nineteen-year-old Anal Hope, Rowl Cozier, 17, and Kevin O’Neal, 21, all seamen of 1st Dam Alliance Road Timehri, East Bank Demerara (EBD) were charged today for the murder of 39-year-old, Kuru Kururu Minibus Driver, Marcus Thomas. They appeared at Providence Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship, Principal Magistrate, Judy Latchman, who read the charge to them. They were not required to make a plea.
The case has been adjourned to June 10, 2021 at the Diamond/ Grove Magistrate Court. In the case of Rowl Cozier, he will attend the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on May 24.
Thomas was found dead outside his Kuru Kururu, Linden/Soesdyke Highway home on May 11, moments after he was attacked by three men, who gained entry into his home by kicking open his door.
Residents said that they heard noise coming from the house, followed by the assailants fleeing the scene. Thomas limped his way into his frontyard calling for help before collapsing. His lifeless body was discovered with gaping wounds to several areas including his neck and wrists.
