A 43-year-old carpenter is now hospitalised after he was shot by a 34-year-old mechanic yesterday at Zeelugt Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo.
Enquires disclosed that the victim and the suspect had an argument over a game of pools and as a result, the suspect pulled out a handgun from his waist and shot the 43-year-old to his abdomen, after which he made good his escape in a white wagon motorcar.
The victim was picked up and rushed to Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he was treated by the doctor on duty and admitted.
He was later transferred to Georgetown Public Hospital and his condition is listed as serious.
Checks were made for the suspect but he could not be found. Investigations are ongoing.
