Police are investigating the murder of Lopez Cardenas Yoesmarita, a 40-year-old Cuban National, which took place at Charlotte Street, Georgetown today around 05:00hrs.
A relative has since been arrested.
Guyana Standard understands that Yoesmarita, armed with a knife, was attempting to physically remove the suspect from the premises when a fight ensued.
The suspect took away Yoesmarita’s knife and dealt him a stab to his lower back.
The suspect was arrested and is presently in custody at Alberttown Police Station assisting with further investigations.
