Police are investigating a robbery under arms which took place around 00:30hrs today at WD Malls at Charity.
The victim is a 40-year-old (name not provided by police) and the suspects have been identified as “two males, one known to police” (no name provided by police)
According to the police, the victim, who works at the mall, was on duty when the incident occurred.
It is alleged that the two suspects approached the premises and requested rooms. As such, the victim opened for them.
They then whipped out black handguns from their waists and pointed it to him while demanding monies.
One of the suspects reached into the victim’s pocket and took out $5,000 and a bunch of keys which belonged to the hotel and attempted to bind his hands but failed.
Abandoning this detention, one of the males then proceeded to a cellphone stall and broke a glass door of the said stall which is located on the first flat.
They then took a quantity of cellphones valued $3M and a quantity of tablets valued $300,000 and made good their escape.
The entire ordeal was captured on CCTV cameras and investigations are underway.
