Two pastors were robbed yesterday on Sheriff Street, police say.
They have been identified as a 33-year-old and 36-year-old. No names were provided.
The robbery took place around 14:45hrs in the vicinity of Nirva Supermarket.
They were robbed of: one Timberland wallet containing National ID card, driver’s license, NIS card, Republic Bank card, $2,000, one gold iPhone XS Max valued $250,000, a black wallet valued $2,000, T&T ID card, Guyana ID card, T&T license, T&T NIS card, $3,000 cash and a red Fransico handbag valued at $10,000.
Investigations disclosed that the victims were headed to the supermarket when the perpetrators approached them riding a black motorcycle.
The pillion rider dismounted and pointed a gun to both victims demanding that they hand over all their belongings, which they refused to do.
He then discharged a round in their direction, which did not hit them, but caused them to let go of their items. The pillion rider then mounted the said motorcycle and both perpetrators made good their escape. Enquiries are ongoing.
