A 50-year-old Taxi Driver of Bush Lot, Corentyne managed to fight off armed masked men who forcibly entered his home around 21:00hrs last night.
One of the men was armed with a handgun, while his two accomplices carried cutlasses.
Enquiries revealed that the victim heard a noise coming from his living room and upon checking, he was confronted by two masked bandits both armed with cutlasses.
One of the bandits placed a cutlass to his neck and demanded him to hand over all his valuables.
The victim then held onto the cutlass and a scuffle ensued.
The two bandits subsequently abandoned their mission and escaped, along with their accomplice who was standing in the yard.
The victim received a wound to his left hand and was examined by a doctor.
Investigations are ongoing.
