A man who is accused of shooting a peace officer was again arraigned in a City court. This time, he is charged for stealing articles amounting to over $300,000 from a woman.

Desmond McPherson called “Baby boy” of Lot 1 Meadow Brook Gardens, was today arraigned before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he denied the robbery charge.

It is alleged that on June 2, at Dowding Street, in the company of another, he robbed Julian Dow of a Samsung cell phone valued at $160,000 and $153,500 in cash, totaling $313,500.

Following his not guilty plea, he was granted $100,000 bail. The matter was adjourned until July 9.

McPherson previously appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus when he was placed on $210,000 bail for three charges. He was accused of shooting a policeman, being in possession of a loaded gun, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

It is alleged that on October 5, 2020, at Arapaima Street, Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, McPherson, with intent to resist lawful apprehension, assaulted Constable 24016 Ramsingh, a Peace Officer acting in the execution of his duty.

It is also alleged that on the same date and place, McPherson had in his possession a .32 Taurus pistol without being a holder of a firearm license and four rounds of ammunition.

Another charge alleges that he discharged a loaded firearm at Constable Ramsingh with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or cause him grievous bodily harm.

Those matters are currently before Magistrate Dylon Bess in Court Six.
