Two more persons, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), have died. This takes the number of deaths from the pandemic to 411. The latest fatalities are two women; a 70-year-old from Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam) and 65-year-old from Region Four (Demerara Mahaica). They died while receiving care.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has confirmed an additional 53 cases, taking the number of infection since March 2020 to 17,718.
There are 17 patients housed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 95 in institutional isolation, 1,675 in home isolation and two in institutional quarantine.
Recoveries have increased to 15,520.
