The Customs Anti-Norcotic Unit (CANU) today intercepted an aircraft at Kwakwani.
Based on information received, a team of drug enforcement officials was deployed to the Bisaruni Area, Kwakwani where a burnt-out aircraft was discovered on the trail. The aircraft is suspected to be involved in illicit activities.
No illicit cargo was discovered. An investigation has been launched to locate the pilot and determine the circumstances of this discovery.
Recently, there have been several seizures of cocaine between Guyana and Suriname as a result of closer collaboration and cooperation.
