Omela Singh, 26, of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, succumbed while in hospital to injuries she sustained from her lover. She died around 19:45hrs last night, police said.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed the discovery of the body of the 49-year-old perpetrator floating in the conservancy aback Canal Number One.
Previous reports indicate that the victim and the suspect were in a visiting relationship, and yesterday around noon, the man visited Singh at her residence and they had an argument. During the argument, the suspect dealt Singh several cuffs and stabs about her body resulting in the knife being stuck in her abdomen. He then fled the scene.
