The body of Floyd Austin was found yesterday around 10:50hrs at Epsom Village Backdam, Corentyne. Austin was reported missing several days ago.
His body was discovered in a clump of bushes, naked lying face down, in a partially decomposed state, police said in a report today. The body was identified by the man’s daughter, Petronella Austin.
Police say that the body was examined and no marks of violence were seen. A post-mortem examination is expected shortly.
Guyana Standard was informed that a pair of black long boots, three-quarter brown pants, blue underwear along with a transparent bottle containing substance suspected to be poison were found nearby.
The mentioned articles found were taken and lodged at the Skeldon Police Station. Investigations are ongoing.
