Three more persons, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 492. The patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.
Among the dead is a 102-year-old woman from Region Four. The others are two males, both 60 years old of Regions Four and Six.
Guyana has also recorded 90 new cases, taking the number of infections from March 2020 to 20,924.
