Three more persons have succumbed to COVID-19, the Ministry has reported. The death toll is now 506. Guyana Standard understands that the patients were admitted with “COVID-19 like symptoms” but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.

The number of confirmed cases has also increased by 51, taking total infections from March 2020, to 21,274. Meanwhile, some 19,545 persons have recovered.
Ten are still receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 83 in institutional isolation, one in institutional quarantine, and 1,130 in home isolation.
