As government continues to inject sums necessary for the restoration of the agriculture sector, six contracts were signed yesterday for the delivery of goods and services.
These contracts were signed between four agencies falling under the Ministry of Agriculture—Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuco), Hydromet Service, the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB), and the Guyana Marketing Corporation.
GuySuCo and Aubco Construction signed a $26.7M contract for the rehabilitation of the Rosehall factory. Aubco Construction will dismantle the existing chimney and install a new one.
The Hydromet Service will soon be benefitting from new equipment worth over $25.3 M to be provided by NT Computeac. The necessary pieces of equipment will allow the Hydromet Service to function more efficiently thus improve its rating within the World Meteorological Organization.
GRDB signed a contract with Manohar Services to the tune of $21.3M for the construction of a lab for its Postharvest/ Value Added Department.
The Guyana Marketing Corporation signed three contracts. The first was signed with Modern Electronics and Industrial Supplies for the provision of refrigerated containers. This contract is to the tune of $15M.
Another contract was signed for the supply, delivery, and testing of lab equipment. This was signed with Meditron Inc to the tune of $13M
GMC also signed a contract with K Ramdial Construction services for 14M for the upgrading of land and the construction of a shed.
