Three more persons have succumbed to COVID-19, taking the death toll in the country to 530. The Health Ministry said today that the patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms, but died while receiving care at medical institutions. Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests.

Guyana has also recorded 31 new cases, taking the number of confirmed infections in 16 months to 22,181.
Nine persons are in the intensive care unit, 70 in institutional isolation and 907 in home isolation.
Some 20,665 persons have since recovered.
