Apart from providing negative COVID-19 tests, the Nationals of Trinidad and Tobago visiting Guyana, must also provide proof of vaccination, says Guyana’s Health Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony. He said that the implementation of these mandatory requirements was prompted by recent decisions made by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
“We were guided by some decisions that have been taken by CARICOM, where at that level, there have been two principal things that most countries in CARICOM would now require: one, is that a traveler must produce a negative PCR [test]; and secondly, they must also produce proof of vaccination. So, we’re moving to honour that decision that CARICOM has instituted,” the Minister said during his daily COVID-19 update today.
He added that more changes will be made in the coming weeks, hinting those similar requirements would be in place for other CARICOM member states.
“You’ll see some changes as we go forward, and that would be for all travelers coming to Guyana. So, I think, more explicit travel instructions would be forthcoming in the next few days,” he noted.
