The Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed that two more persons, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 553.
The latest fatalities are two females, a 56-year-old and a 54-year-old from Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice). They both died while receiving care at medical facilities.
Meanwhile, the country has chalked up 84 new cases of the virus, as the number of confirmed cases since March 2020 reaches 22,789.
The Health Ministry has also reported that 13 persons are in the Intensive Care Unit.
