Four more persons, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died, the Health Ministry said this afternoon.
These fatalities take the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 601. The patients were admitted with COVID-19 like symptoms but died while receiving care at medical institutions.
Samples were taken at the time of admission which subsequently returned positive tests, the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases since March 2020 is now 24,506 with the addition of 134 new cases.
Twenty-two (22) persons are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Some 22,462 persons have recovered thus far.
