Doonauth Moses called Chunick, a 46-year-old businessman of Lot 1 Betsy Ground, East Canje Berbice, is now counting his losses after someone lit his vehicles on fire last night.
Enquiries disclosed that the victim parked his bus, PPP 391, and motorcar, PSS 1113 at the eastern side of his premises; and his canter, GWW 3612, to the northern side of his premises before retiring to bed.
He reported that about 20:00hrs, he secured his business place and proceeded to the upper flat of the building with his family, when he observed on one of his cameras that his motor vehicles were on fire.
He armed himself with his licensed firearms and ventured to the front of his yard where he discharged four rounds from his shotgun and four from his .32 pistol.
New Amsterdam Fire Service responded but the blaze was already extinguished.
CCTV footage showed one unidentifiable male was seen walking out an access street situated to the west of the premises and he threw a substance on the aforementioned vehicles and then lit the same.
