Earlier today, a 28-year-old woman and her 34-year-old driver were robbed at gunpoint at Memorial Gardens, Le Repentir Cemetery, Georgetown while they were awaiting the conclusion of a post-mortem examination.
They were relieved of one iPhone 6, valued $40,000; one Samsung Galaxy 810S, valued $35,000; one Samsung Galaxy valued $40,000; one gold chain valued $70,000; one gold bangle valued $57,000; and $180,000.
Enquiries disclosed that the duo was waiting at the facility when they were approached by three men. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and relieved the victims of their belongings.
As they made their escape, the armed suspect discharged two rounds in the air. Investigations are ongoing.
