Georgetown has 538 active COVID-19 cases, with 77 in Kitty alone, Health Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony said today during his daily update. Meanwhile, there are 44 cases in Sophia, 30 in Cummingslodge. He reported also that there are 442 active infections on the East Coast of Demerara, with 33 in the Mon Repos area.
In Region Three (Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), there are 560 active cases, with 53 in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo. There are 384 cases along the East Bank of Demerara, Region Four, with 67 in Grove, 59 in Diamond, and 32 in Eccles. Region Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) has 74 with 60 in Bartica.
Over the last 24 hours, health officials have recorded 161 new cases from 1,728 tests. There are 2,430 active cases in the country, with 129 hospitalised. Minister Anthony said that 37 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
