Twenty-nine-year-old Orin Boston, who was shot by a law enforcement official earlier this week, died of haemorrhage and shock due to gunshot injuries to the chest, the post-mortem examination has revealed.

The procedure was conducted by Doctor Nehaul Singh.

The body was identified to the doctor in the presence of the police by his aunt, Esthelene Boston and his uncle Troy Day.

A single warhead was extracted from the body of the deceased and was handed over to the police.

The body was then handed over to the relatives for burial.

Police said that Boston was killed during a confrontation with ranks, but his wife contends that the man was gunned down while he was unarmed and in bed. Following Boston’s death, Dartmouth Essequibo residents blocked the road in protests.

The police force has promised an independent investigation in the killing.
