A security guard of Perseverance Estate, Essequibo Coast, died on Wednesday last after his motorcycle collided with a light pole on Johanna Cecila Public Road, Essequibo Coast.
Dead is 59-year-old Sugrim Singh. Police say that Singh was on motorcycle CE 5133 proceeding north along the western drive lane at a fast rate of speed, when he allegedly lost control of the cycle and crashed into the light pole located on the western parapet.
As a result of the collision, he fell to the road surface which caused him to receive injuries to his body.
He was later picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and was transported to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigations are ongoing.
