The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has forwarded the file on slain Dartmouth, Essequibo businessman, Orin Boston to the Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority for review.
Boston was shot and killed by police last week during an ‘anti-crime exercise. The 29-year-old’s death has sparked controversy with accounts of family members differing from the police’s statement about what transpired.
The force said that Boston was killed in a confrontation but his wife maintains that her husband was shot while he was in bed and unarmed.
Following his death, residents conducted protest demonstrations by burning tyres and other debris, blocking the main thoroughfare at Dartmouth.
