Savitri Pertabnarine, 31, of Lot 160 Train Line, Port Mourant Corentyne, Berbice, was charged on Thursday last with two counts of fraudulent misappropriation allegedly committed on Navindra Persaud and Ronald Reddie.
The accused appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate R. Singh, where the charges were read to her and she was not required to plea.
According to police, Pertabnarine allegedly committed fraudulent misappropriation of $600,000 property of Navindra Persaud and $500,000 property of Ronald Reddie. The charges were laid under Section 197 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Offenses) Act Chapter 8:01.
She was refused bail and was remanded to prison to make her next court appearance on October 22, 2021, for report.
