The Region 10 (Upper Demerara/ Berbice) Democratic Council (RDC) says it has again detected deviations from the scope of work for the construction of a road in Ituni.
Councilor, Keisha McKane-Griffith made the site visit and recorded the deficiencies observed. She said that the Regional Executive Officer (REO), Dwight John has committed to pursuing corrective action on these issues with the contractor.
The development comes three days after another road at Rainbow City was flagged by the RDC.
Councilors and the Regional Chairman inspected the road following the report made on the substandard work observed there. REO John responded promptly with a visit of his own to ascertain the situation on the ground the next day.
Accompanied by Engineer, Gavin Clarke, and Councilor Coretta Braithwaite, who serves as the Councilor with direct responsibility for that area, the REO saw “first hand” the defects and was able to determine steps to be taken to remedy same, the RDC said.
