Valonzo Hackette, 30, of Lot 210 Half Mile, Wismar, Linden was sentenced to one year in prison after he pleaded guilty to the charge of malicious damage to property.
The accused was arrested on Friday 10 December 2021 and charged for two counts of Malicious Damage to Property Contrary to Section 160 of the Criminal Law Offences Act Chapter 8:01 and thowing missile, Contrary to Section 153 (xxvii) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offence Act Chapter 8:02 which occurred on December 8 and 10, 2021 at One Mile, Wismar.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Ms Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate Court via Zoom, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded guilty to one charge of damage to property and not guilty to the other charge also not guilty to throwing missiles.
He was sentenced to one-year imprisonment on his guilty plea and the other matters are set for January 14, 2022, for report.
