Mahdai Netchandra, 58, unemployed and Henry Trim, 63, a farmer, both of No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice were charged yesterday for the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Both accused were arrested on December 14, 2021 and charged for the offence laid under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act Chapter 10:10.
They appeared at the Springlands Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate R. Singh, where the charge was read to them and they pleaded not guilty.
They were both granted bail in the sum of $100,000 each.
The matter was postponed to the 9th February 2021, for report at the No. 51 Magistrate’s Court.
