A 22-year-old man is on the run after he stabbed 24-year-old, Kelvin Kewley called “Kello” a fisherman of Lot 12, Number 65 Village, Corentyne Berbice yesterday during a row at a koker.
Enquiries disclosed that the victim and accused were on a fishing boat at the koker when they began arguing. The suspect allegedly used a sharp object and stabbed Kewley to the mid-section of his chest and on his left hand.
He was later rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital, where he was seen and treated by a doctor on duty and transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was subsequently admitted a patient for further treatment.
Checks were made for the suspect and information received is that he supposedly fled to Suriname.
