A 25-year-old male Taxi Driver was robbed last night around 20:00hrs by three men at Duncan Street, Sisters Village, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Enquiries disclosed that the victim was working his motorcar HC 2431 from Vreed-en-Hoop to Wales, WBD when he picked up the three suspects in front of the Stanleytown junction to take them to Sisters Village.
As the victim was in the vicinity of Wales Police Station, he heard what sounded like a crank of a gun. The suspects then held the victim at knife point and told him to drive to Duncan Street.
On arrival, the three suspects relieved him of $27,000 and one wristwatch valued $5,500.
The victim gave chase behind them and managed to apprehend one of the suspects, a 16-year-old of Canal #2, WBD.
A search was carried out on his person and $8,360.00 cash was found. The victim then took him to Wales Police Station, where he was handed over to the Police and placed into custody and the cash was lodged.
Checks were made for the other suspects but they were not contacted. Investigation are ongoing.
