Two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1060. The latest fatalities are a 62-year-old unvaccinated woman from Region Six and a 70-year-old fully vaccinated, Region Six man.
Guyana also recorded an additional 779 cases, taking confirmed infections since March 2020 to 41,418.
There are five persons in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 66 institutionally isolated, 2,445 in home isolation and 10 in institutional quarantine.
Some 37,842 persons have recovered. Health authorities have conducted 435,258 tests to date.
