Guyana continues to record numbers of new COVID-19 cases with 847 confirmed in the last 24 hours, taking active cases in the country to 4,295.
Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony said more than half of these new cases are among young people.
“This younger grouping that is really mobile, moving around from place to place, probably going to bars and restaurants and things like that; they are the ones whom we are seeing that are getting infected,” the Health Minister said.
Minister Anthony said that most of the persons infected are mildly symptomatic judging from hospitalization numbers. He, again, urged citizens who test positive to go into isolation to prevent the spread of the virus.
