Police ranks in Regional Division Three netted a 408-gram find of cannabis sativa following an intelligence-led operation at Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara (WBD) yesterday.
Police say that two women,18 and 34, are the prime suspects who were arrested and detained.
When police turned up at the property, the women were present and a search of the first bedroom of the house revealed a black bulky plastic bag under the bed which contained several ziploc bags of cannabis seeds, leaves and stems. Both women were told of the suspicion, cautioned, arrested and taken to Leonora Police Station, where the narcotic was tested and weighed in their presence. Charges are expected to be laid shortly.
