Rawle Simon and Roger Simon today appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Chrystal Lambert, charged jointly with the offence of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison until February 22, 2022.
Police say yesterday at 09:34hrs, acting on information received, ranks went to Itaballi Boat Landing, where 19-year-old Rawle Simon of lot 20 Second Avenue, Bartica was contacted and a search was carried out on a haversack on his person. It contained two parcels wrapped in brown tape containing a number of cannabis leaves, seeds, and stems.
He was arrested and identified Roger ‘Goat Man’ Simon as the owner of the narcotic. They were both taken to the Bartica Police Station where the narcotic was weighed and amounted to 1kg 78 grams.
