A construction worker, who was nabbed in a full female disguise after going on the run following the murder of his stepson, is now on remand.
Shawn Bobb, 27, of Lot 252 Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, Georgetown, was today remanded over the murder Isaiah Edwards who died following a stabbing at his home on Thursday last.
Bobb was brought before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. He was charged with the murder committed on Edwards, 19, a construction worker of North East La Penitence Squatting Area, Georgetown, between January 26 and January 27.
He was not required to plea and was remanded to prison until February 11.
Edwards was stabbed on January 26, after he intervened in an argument between his mother and his stepfather, Bobb. Guyana Standard understands that the teen was stabbed and then rushed to the Georgetown Public hospital where he was later transferred from and taken to the Infectious Disease Hospital at Lilliendaal, ECD, after testing positive for COVID-19.
The teen then succumbed the following day at around noon.
According to information reported, the teen’s mother and stepfather were rowing over food that was not finished cooking. He became annoyed and intervened when the irate man grabbed a knife and stabbed him to the region of his right side lung. His mother then interjected and was also stabbed, to her lower left side of her back.
