The Government of Guyana’s National Clean-Up Campaign will be unfolding on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) from this Saturday, February 26, 2022.

On behalf of Government, Mohabir Anil Nandlall, the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs and Dr. Frank Anthony, the Minister of Health will lead this initiative.

Both officials have made a call for good corporate and commercial citizens as well as residents on the ECD to be involved in the initiative during a meeting at the Better Hope Community Center on the 23rd February, 2022 with community volunteer groups.

The Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) is leading the way in this regard as it is partnering with the organizers and several Neighbourhood Democratic Councils (NDC’s) along the East Coast of Demerara.

At the meeting, Ms. Molly Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of GUYOIL along with her staff handed over cleaning supplies and tools to groups which will be leading the exercise in various locations from Vereeniging to Industry on the East Coast of Demerara.

She noted that GUYOIL is committed to supporting the nationwide clean-up campaign, which is an initiative by His Excellency, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

A schedule of the dates for the clean up campaign in respective areas has been crafted for members of the public who want to participate in helping to enhance the environment in their communities.
