The Ministry of Health (MOH) has informed the media that as of March 1, 2022, two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 1,222.
The latest fatalities are two Region Four residents: an 86-year-old woman and an 83-year-old man. They were fully vaccinated, the Ministry said.
Meanwhile, Guyana has also recorded 25 new cases, taking confirmed infections since March 2020 to 62,971 from 541,736 tests.
There are eight persons in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 25 in institutional isolation, 389 in home isolation, and 15 in institutional quarantine.
So far, 61, 327 persons have recovered.
